#620 was a traumatic episode. I spent most of it in tears. Part of me though the finale couldn't possibly be any worse than that, but sort of tried

Oh yes, I remember Dark Willow. I watched all the seven seasons of Buffy. Cas definitely needs his Xander here on the show too...

I completely agree with what your friend said too. It sums up what I am feeling perfectly. And I agree from 6x20 I think I was expecting the worst, I kind of didn't care what happened to anyone but Castiel. But at the same time though I was scared of them turning Cas evil I truly wasn't wanting it to happen. I am nothing short of devastated and disappointed in them.

The last five minutes were hard. Cas isn't even Cas anymore and I truly wish Dean had made this appeal earlier and not when he was shit scared. 'Don't make me lose you too' could have been so much more powerful. But Cas was pushed to the end of his rope...*sigh*

Yes, Cas isn't Cas anymore. He's so full of juice and negative emotions (definitely not a good cocktail) that he stated that he doesn't have any family... that hurt so bad :( I agree when you say that he was pushed to the end of his rope: I know he is responsible too for what happened (I'm not conveniently forgetting this) but, probably, he wouldn't have made such a huge mistake if he had a little more support earlier.

I remember very much wanting him to fall then too. I would have much rather seen an arc with Cas trying to deal with being human. Dean would have to be supportive of him rather than how he was in 6x19 though...

I do think this is one of those things where we can't say oh yes Dean was fully to blame, he played his part in it, Cas made the choice, but I still feel that this choice of the writers to do this wasn't true to the characters and rather they had a big shocking plot idea and made everyone fit it. I agree though, he wouldn't have made such a choice if he had had support earlier, and I still find it hard to believe that Cas wouldn't tell Dean the truth earlier (and that after all Dean went through with Sam he wouldn't at least try and hear Cas out.

Cas saying he has no family was so sad :( I hated that.

I think Misha did a great job portraying god!Cas... you could tell right away that he wasn't 'our' Castiel anymore
