Excellent travel log, it seems that different zones actually do make difference to some taxi drivers, just like Travis Bickle says in that movie. It would be interesting to see some more prices you encountered to comparison the euro/dollar/real value rate.
I didn't compare much as I needed to eat, sleep, drink and buy records regarding to price. For cheapest, Miia bought a pair of Demonia shoes under 12 euros.
Club cover (entry fee) was mostly $5 (4.20€), a small bottle of beer in a club was huge $4-5 + $1-2 tip.
Car rent was 270€/week, and it wasn't the smallest car at all, because I wanted cruise control. The gas was $2.80 per gallon (0.54 € per liter) comparing to Finnish 1.30 €/l. All of our fuel did cost less than 100€ in the trip of SF->LV->LA and around LA. Weekly bus pass in San Francisco was $24 (17.57€) per person. Almost the same as 5 days pass in Helsinki (18€).
Entry fee to the Universal Studios was 45€ (front of line pass 90€) comparing to Linnanmäki bracelet 30€. We didn't visit Disney World, but there it is 52€ per day, and the day is not enough, so you probably need a three day pass (149€).
