i just found this thing. it's probably one of those internet viral video things i've missed out on and everyone who calls it the "intarwebz" probably knows about it by now, but i have no idea what it is. and i don't think i care to know. it's got something to do with disturbing baby figurine doll things and dr-suess-headed japanese girls. i... well

I wish I knew what they were saying...

And those dolls are kind of phalic shaped. Especially the one at the end of the Christmas one spurting out that mysterious white substance! Gives it a feeling like they're being trained for a life of prostitution.

after clicking on a few other related videos i've realized that these things - i think - have something to do with noodle dishes.

You're right. They're singing about cod roe, which is a popular spaghetti topping in Japan. The hats are also supposed to be cod roe. The song, "Tarako Tarako Tarako" is a jingle which was also a pop hit. When I was still living in Japan, the song was played on a loop over a speaker in the spaghetti aisle in my local supermarket.
