I've been asking for a story for a little while now, so I guess in a way it's appropriate that one found its way to me. It's a short story, about a life lived in shadow, though honestly that's being a bit poetic with it.

I can't even tell you how many times I've sat here reading this since you wrote it. Granted, I knew most of the story, but it still gets me every time. There's really not much else I can say about this that I haven't said before, so I'll just say... I'm glad it had a happy ending.
