You'd think that it'd get old, just being.

Being there, being somewhere, maybe not here or there, but being. It ain't old for Ennis, though, no way no how, and if ghosts can smile, there's one smiling as a craggy old man watches a grumpy old lady muttering under her breath while she does chores out in the cold.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid..."

Even in the middle of winter, there are things for a lady to do if she wants to keep things in working order. At the moment, it's resetting a support pillar by the barn. She would have Piotr do it, but it's okay to get out of the house a spell.

A laugh, or something of the sort. Getting out is one thing, doing things somebody bigger should do is another. tsk tsk, Sallie.

Ennis leans against the pillar, or would, if there were but anything to lean with, and whispers a word on the wind.

...Then again, some help would be nice.

Or not having to do so in the first place, that'd be shiny too.

A few more tries has Sallie giving up in frustration at said stupid post, fidgeting with the wrist brace Simon gave her awhile back for when she insisted on overdoing things.

A hand reaches out, softly, running against her wrist and pausing but a second, calming.

Or trying, anyway.
