Like many of you, I have an ID badge for work. It serves two very important purposes. First, it lets the rent-a-cops know that you actually belong there, and that you are not part of the great unwashed riff-raff that they are underpaid to keep out. Second, it allows me access to the rest of the building once get past the rent-a-cop's checkpoint

I've been pretty lucky that way, actually; I've only ever needed a time card, so far, and they've been pretty good about getting them to me. The only problem was at my first job, where I didn't take it home with me and just left it near the time clock like almost everyone else did, only the cards didn't quite fit in the thing they had on the wall, so mine got knocked onto the floor. Thought I'd lost it for good, for a minute there.
