Today I was chatting with a coworker of mine, she is older than me with a 39 year old son and is raising her 3 year old grandson.  We got into a conversation about how she has become so much more sensitive to how we shouldn't just expect our kids to know better when they are only 3 years old than when her older children were young.  I chided with

If only more parents of that generation would do what she did. To realize her mistake and correct it is commendable, most would just continue to do what they have always done.
