I went to Madrid in 1998. I was fluent in Spanish then, though. I expected people to be nicer to me because I spoke the language, but that wasn't the case. France ended up being more pleasant(with one exception), despite its reputation of being nasty to tourists.
Sounds like a lot of interesting stories to come:) How cool that your kids got that experience!
I should have warned you about street signs - that gets American tourists every time. I don't know how it is in Spain, but in France, it's practically useless to know the street name anyway.
I'm glad you had a good time, at least I think you did. What's up? Are you really busy?
We had a great time in Spain. It was a challenge with kids but that didn't have a lot to do with Spain as much as it had to do with just traveling with kids. When going to places like this it was hard to let go of what I would have done before I had kids versus what I could realistically do with them. Know what I mean?
As far as busy...Sometimes I feel like I am going nonstop! I feel like life is a frenzy and I can hardly catch a breath. Then when I have a moment I don't want to do anything. I just want to veg on the couch. I ignore the clutter and all the other white noise. But then I get up and it is off to the races again. Gah.....
