Obviously I'm really happy with Obama's victory. And obviously, I'm very unhappy with CA Prop. 8's victory, as well as similarly anti-gay measures in Arizona, Arkansas, and Florida. However, I am pleased with the way things went in WA, the state where I voted. A physician-assisted suicide measure passed by 350,000 votes. My congressional ( Read more... )

Though it's a bit south of you, I'm still crossing my fingers that Darcy Burner won in WA-08.

I guess now that I'm in Portland, it's all north! But the north end of the 8th was due east from where I grew up, part of King County, and where Burner is ahead. Sadly, Reichert is further ahead in Pierce county, the south end of the 8th. I really hope she can win this one too, though.

P.S. - I haven't yet asked a Californian about Prop. 8, and perhaps you're sick of answering questions about it (in which case, my apologies), but I'm wondering if anyone is aware of what happened, what were the deciding factors, or has seen any outstanding analyses...?
