Briefly, to catch up, August was the woodwind camp in Eastern OR and the Cabrillo Festival in Santa Cruz. They went well overall, but I could have done a better job. Because I was teaching outdoors in the rain - and at temperatures not appropriate for woodwind instruments - my teaching was not as good as it should have been. I'm not sure exactly

Make the trip, make the visit. A friend, even a distant one, is still a friend. Your visit may touch him in a way that you could never anticipate. Do the right thing - go see him.

With every relationship it takes a long time to realize that most of the time there's really very little we can do for the people we care about ... and that really, that's the way it needs to be.
