It would strike me there are much easier ways to go about things than this 'prom.'

I have not yet determined the precise criteria involved in this process. The available information on this subject is contradictory.

I agree that this method appears inefficient. It is possible that the individuals involved have not yet determined a more efficient method for accomplishing this task.

The organics are thoroughly underdeveloped, so not yet striking upon that which works most efficiently does seem like a valid hypothesis.

It's called a date. A date doesn't automatically lead in to sex immediately. Most people go on a lot of dates for a while before getting to that point.

... I don't know why everyone isn't filtering it though, I'll give you that.
