Indeed. My primary instrument is the trombone, but apart from guitars, I have been able to play anything I've picked up, or sat at (pianos are a little heavy :).
On my good days, I can play most stuff from sheet music without seeing it beforehand, but there are few of those days, so I mostly play by ear.
