Good luck with the move!
Do you have to renovate the old flat?

Thank you :) In the kind of apartment housing I lived in, funds for renovation is saved up for you with a certain amount each month. I.e., living there for 100 months equal 100% coverage for normal renovations. And I've lived here for about that time, so I can just move out and everything is taken care of. I've moved from enough places where I had to paint and clean to really appreciate this. I still have to do a few things, but mostly I don't need to worry.

I've moved house so many times I've got fairly blasé about it. I always lose at least one box of stuff.

Losing stuff? That is blasé ;) I haven't moved in nine years, but the ten years before that I moved roughly once a year. Perhaps I've lost my nerve :) I've never employed movers though, always moved by the help of friends and family - I can't imagine losing a box that way :)

Whenever I moved, the books were packed first. I was always afraid I'd forget them. But then I'd waste time looking through them and before I knew it, hours would pass and not much packing would get done.

*Lol* Exactly! Why do you think I've started to pack 10 days before I'm actually moving ;) I've been going through my stuff these last weeks and I got an "interesting" surprise; a whole moving box filled to the brim with books was hiding in my storage room. Eeek! I love my books, but I hate hauling them around :)

so far I've never lost books....I still have some of the books I had when I was a child. but somewhere along the way I've managed to lose a dinner service! Oh and if only I knew what happened to the full set of S&H magazines and various screen mags I had back in 1980 when I moved for the (I think) 8th time.

A whole dinner service? Oops! S&H magazines? - more ooops!!

Today I've packed a few boxes with porcelain meant for storage. I think I finally realised why my mother wanted to unload that "heritage" porcelain a few years ago when she and my father was moving :D It's nice and all, and I won't throw it out, but I don't I really need a full dinner set for 12+... Now that I think about it, I have bought pots and pans for my kitchen, but so far I have not yet bought any plates or cutlery - always had nice hand-me-downs and never needed to buy new stuff.

Funny really, that I've made do, in a way. I usually don't.
What about you?
