It seems that just as I'm beginning to get close to a person here at KU they decide to stop going. I want them to be happy and if that means going to a different school, one that is closer to home, then that's what they should do but at the same time I can't help but mourn the loss of yet another person to go to class with, to sit next to, to eat

When we went off to college we all had to move away from old good dear friends. And we survived; we even flourished. We kept the old friends if the relationships evolved or we made new ones or we did both. And so it keeps happening. Look at our relationship: I agree that it was a total bummer not to be able to spend like 13 straight hours studying for my bio final with you last semester, but we are still good friends. If the friendship is everything or anything it should be, it will endure, and even flourish.
