I picture "releasing with joy" as handing over responsibility to someone capable. An example... I wanted to homeschool my son. I planned on it since before his birth. Yet he wanted to go to public school to make friends. I wrestled with it for a long time, but once I handed over his day-to-day education to the staff at Wren and saw him blossom under their care, I felt tremendous happiness. Not only that, but it took an enormous amount of stress out of my life and allowed me to focus on smaller, less stressful projects that bring me fulfillment. I still keep tabs on things and step up to fill in whenever I feel that James can handle more than they're teaching him at his current grade-level, but there is no time-pressure or "HAVE TO" attached to it. :)

I love that you are so mindful of taking time for retreat and reflection (and it doesn't matter if it doesn't always happen the way you plan; the thought and word are surely part of it, and inspire others as well). hope your retreat was restful, and looking forward to seeing you tonight!
