Today my old high school friends M and P came over with their families. I had a really great time, I'm still floating on that sense of connection, of affection, of being known. Apparently part of the reason I was drinking so much iced tea and soda recently was just so I would have something to distract me from things I didn't want to think about -- I got to keep my hands busy and get a little hit of caffeine and sugar at the same time, and everybody's happy. Summer!
After taking a long break from it, I'm really enjoying starting to make my lists again. I was making small-scale, manageable daily and weekly ToDo lists, but for most of this last year I was tending away from my castle-in-the-air, how-do-I-want-to-change-my-life lists. Part of recovering from the overload of the previous year, I think.

It was a good party, I think. Everybody seemed to have a good time, and I was only running around like a nutbar for the first 2 hours of the party. After that I got to sit and eat and talk with folks. I was up until 6 this morning, tossing and turning and being generally maudlin. I eventually passed out just as Joe was getting up for the day. I slept until 10:30 or so, then got up, fed the two of us, and got out to our volunteer shift at GSE.
