I love Valentine's Day! It is such a great holiday of love and affection. I don't like doing expensive extravagent things; just simple gestures of love. We made homemade truffles and my daughter brought them to school for her teachers. They are so yummy! Tonight, we are having a family dinner celebration making a chinese feast from scratch. Valentine's Day for us? Cost only one container of fresh mushrooms. We have steak in the freezer, so we're going to grill steaks, and make potatoes w/mushroom gravy. Yumola. Then after the kids are sleeping? Ken's promised to watch Steel Magnolias with me. He's been promising me for YEARS, and he's finally going to make good on his promise.

Nice cheap Hearts Day. Very little money, tons of thought, and love. Just the way it should be. :-) Enjoy your weekend!!!!

Sounds great! I have never seen Steel Magnolias, I don't think...is that the one with Cher? If so, then I did see it. I just so dislike the idea of spending a bunch of money just because it is the day. I did splurge a bit today for my daughter. She adores raspberries. I was at Sam's and they looked so good. I bought her a whole container for herself. That is her Valentine present...she is thrilled and eating them down right now. Enjoy yourself and surround yourself with loads of love :)

You may be thinking of Mask. That one's a tear-jerker too. Steel Magnolias has, oh, tons of people...Olympia Dukakis, Shirley Maclaine, Dolly Parton, Sally Field, Julia Roberts...and I'm probably forgetting some folks too. It's so good, but such a chick flick. Ken's made his promise though, so I'm holding him to it!! :-)
