Thomas Sowell's most recent column, Courts without law, details the lawlessness in the US Supreme Court. All of you should read this column.

An aside: I think Sowell is wrong about the California gun ban. There may not be a right to bear arms in the California State constitution, but there is one in the US Constitution, and there have been many occasions on which the courts have imposed Federal standards on the States on much weaker grounds (e.g. race discrimination; legalized abortion). If CA wants to ban guns then let it secede from the USA first.

My main point: Okay, fine. Congress, the President and the Supreme Court are all flatly contradicting the Constitution. So what are we supposed to do about it, Mr. so-called Constitutionalist? What is the next logical step? Go ahead, say it. Stick your neck out. Let's start with "We are not morally obliged to obey any unconstitutional law" -- the mildest possible form of civil disobedience. We may end up where the Founding Fathers did with respect to the Crown. But none of it will ever happen if men of letters don't speak up. And that is why we are doomed to become a fallen empire.

I often pray for the courage to stand behind my convictions. My family doesn't always understand how my Christian principles translate into my political viewpoints, which makes it more difficult. But I'll stick my neck out, PS.
