So step 11 is the dragon! I've actually scanned a few images to show the progression of the dragon, because this step is really all about painting scales and shading them until they feel right. No real secret here!

I'm surprised to see you use salt in the background, someone told me that this technique harms the paper and shortens the life of the painting... do you know if there is any truth to that?
I've actually never heard about the salt being harmful to the painting. But then, I never really looked into it. I have other friends who use it all the time too. hmmmm. Honestly though, I have yet to see a damaged painting because of the salt, at least on the paintings I still have with me here. But it's definitely possible.
I do remove the salt once it's done doing the textures though. I don't leave it on the painting.
