CMA Results & Election Night Triumphs

So did I do amazingly well at predicting the CMAs or what?  I know, I'm just awesome.  Plus, Brad Paisley won best album (which he totally deserved) and "Jesus Take the Wheel" didn't get anything.  Yayro!

And, on to the more important news of the week:

WE WON THE HOUSE!!!!  WE'RE PROBABLY GONNA TAKE THE SENATE!!!  YAY-YAY-YAY-YAYRO!!!!!

So, yeah, that ( Read more... )

Yeah, but Carrie Underwood got Female Vocalist of the Year? That's bullshit, but I'm pretty much okay with it on the fact that Faith Hill did not win. I'm sorry... she's been adult contemporary since 1998. The only quality music she puts out anymore are her duets with Tim.

I don't understand why they nominate people who haven't put out an album this year. Faith Hill's album is like 2 years old. Yeah, I hate all the repetitions too.

The Horizon Award has never made sense to me. The worst ever was the 2001 Grammys, when for once a country artist was nominated. And it was Brad Paisley, who obviously deserved it more than anyone. And what did they do? They gave it to SHERYL CROW, who's 1st album came out in 1994. WTF?

And yes, I think the omission of Gary Allan is the worst. "Life Ain't Always Beautiful"? "Best I Ever Had"? GREAT songs.

And Rumsfeld resigned. I was checking email yesterday and saw the headline about 15 minutes after it happened and was really excited. My roomate was not nearly as happy as she should have been. However, I am glad that you share my enthusiasm about the election.

Ok, so true story:

Yesterday after I got back from class I checked CNN.com to see if they'd called the Montana race. There was no new news. So I take a nap. A friend calls and wakes me up after 1 1/2 hours to talk about what a great day it is. I agree. We talk for several minutes until:
ME: Why can't they just call the Montana election?!?
FRIEND: They did. We won. And Rumsfeld resigned.
ME: WHAT?!?!?

I missed it all. Because I was napping. But anyway, yeah, yesterday was pretty much the best day ever.

No Canada... anonymous November 9 2006, 18:18:37 UTC
So, I guess we aren't moving to Canada. And yes, I am thrilled with the take-over of Congress as well as Rumsfeld's resignation, however, I'm still slightly embarrassed to live in the state of TN...seriously, Corker? I'm not going to lie, I like Frist (yes, cats and all) but Corker? Argh...miss you! Oh, and I agree, Election night is way better than the Super Bowl!
