On a very different note, I need advice.  Should I stay in my dorm room next year and room with I-don't-know-who, or should I move into an apartment with my close friends?

It depends.

On the one hand, those are the bestest dorms that ever were.

On the other... apartments have real kitchens. And not random roommates.

Have you asked your parents? Do you know how much the rent will be in compared to what they're paying for the dorm? How close is the apartment to campus?

I think I'm probably gonna go with the apartment. I think the rent will be slightly higher, but I offered to pay for the difference. It's not too far away; it's in walking distance (but a longer walk) and there are 6 buses that stop there all day long & 1 at night. The rooms are tiny, but I probably won't spend that much time in my room.

Plus, a real kitchen.
