Although I'm not a fan of objective oughts, and I think you presented me with a false dicotomy (sp?), I do think you pointed to something I overlooked. That is that the question itself implies choice, free will. Therefore, in the context of the question, I have free will. Hence, yes, I'd want to know. That way, I can opt to extend my life as well as know how much time i have in which to make descisions. If I'm goign to die tomorrow, I'll donate my money to charity and forgo the novel. If I'll die in 20 years, I'll write several novels and hopefully earn more money to donate more.
