Catching up (again)

Jul 02, 2003 18:11

I know that I've been very poor at updating recently. I haven't said anything about Badgercon, my yearly appraisal, Monde or Prague, let alone Books, Television and Games.

I have therefore decided to provide a brief summary of each of the above, hoping that I won't be accused of missing stuff out.

encounter Nobilis (hee hee)

< Tuts >

(incidentally, how do you get the "<" symbol to appear directly next to another symbol?)

Type < and correspondingly >

(And to type that, I had to type <. And to type that.... You get the idea ;-)

at least I won't be abandoning Sigurne, who currently needs all the support she can get so that smiorgan's character doesn't murder her in her bed.

I only ever murder people to their face.

So does that mean if we all (well, OK, Katako, Imogen and Sigurne) keep our backs to the squire at all times we'll be safe?

Oh, bugger. Foiled again.

Fair enough, I won't murder you, but I may pinch your bum.

Just a very small point, but as an avid Wynne Jones fanatic who agrees with you on the other books, may I recommend The Magicians Of Caprona? It's a nice little story with a dash of Chrestomanci - I thought it was better than Witch Week for example.

Syberia caught my eye in the local
branch of Game at the weekend.

I would be quite tempted to play it, except
that I'm really rather busy at the moment. :(

I was lent it by someone at Tao (through bateleur).

I enjoyed it, but found some of the puzzles too hard (and resorted to a FAQ with bateleur tut-tuting in my ear).

However I'll be looking out for the sequel, which I think is due out at the end of the year.

I couldn't work out how to do cocktails on my own but other than that pretty much resisted the urge to read faqs. I was very proud of myself.

I'll give you my copy next time I see you, you can play it whenever you get round to it.
