Eamon had never expected the Keep to suddenly be happy again when people came to visit, especially Tom. In fact, in Tom's case he'd braced himself for a bit of pessimism. Still, the silence was a stark change from the brief yelling match, and it was a bit less settling than usual ( Read more... )

-It's a bit past ten when Tom comes down the stairs, well-dressed but bleary-eyed and tired. He hasn't slept well at all, but that's usual for him. He just hadn't expected to be setting off sparks in frustration every time he touched the bedpost.-

Is there coffee, Eamon? Please tell me there's coffee. -His speech is slightly slurred, though thankfully not by alcohol.-

Did anything happen last night after all that?

No, nothing of importance. -He doesn't look at Tom as he says this. He's silently angry at him, for refusing help like he does, letting himself be the martyr because he didn't want to seem needy.-
