happy new year everyone

So, the last day of holidays and I'm procrastinating as much as I can. Tomorrow is back to teaching, to catch-up work from students who've been ill and grade appeals from students who think they deserve A's and wrestling with technology so that somehow 700 audio files will magically appear on an interactive web page ( Read more... )

Not sure it's fair to say yet that Eleven is a younger Ten. We've only seen him during his post-regenerative wobbles. The new series preview shows him punching somebody and using a gun, so that's not very Ten. Still, we'll see.

As for Martha, apparently in the audio commentary RTD says that Martha's fiancé was just her rebound guy from the Doctor. Seems a bit unfair to me, but I've no real objections to Martha/Mickey. I guess they bonded after "Journey's End". So the honeymoon that Martha is on in CoE is actually with Mickey, not with Tom.

I'm determined to stay positive, anyway. I pretty much hated all of that two-parter save for Tim Dalton and Jack, so I'm trying to see good things where I can!

Edited for over-enthusiastic spelling.

I've thought that Eleven looked and acted like a younger, poofier-haired, sillier Ten from the very first interview.

So Tom, the heroic doctor who dies to save her in LOTTL is just a "rebound guy", and Mickey whom she meets for the first time in Journey's End and is Rose's ex-boyfriend, THAT'S the guy she marries? Yeah. Tell the truth, RTD, you wanted to get Mickey into the goodbye tour but you didn't want him as Rose's then-boyfriend so you stuck him with Martha.

Good grief, what a stressful "holiday!" Teaching will probably be far more relaxing.

oh, I knew the finale would suck, I just wanted to get it over with. It's the lineup of whiny "but I deserve an A" babies that make me not want to go to work
