Hello! *waves* I'm not sure I know any handy getting-to-know you memes, but I always love hearing about some real-life details on my LJ friends and some random trivia (ex. "I hate color yellow and symmetric shapes, but adore singing in the shower with my cat":D), so whatever you feel like sharing I'd be glad to know:) And vice versa, naturally.
Okay, I'll see if I can come up with some random trivia about me. ^^ I'm one of the (probably very few) people who really like Brussel sprouts, I'm genuinely happy about receiving socks for Christmas (One can never have too many socks! Or books for that matter...) and I hate it when authors try to create suspense simply by withholding essential facts, like a character's name (looking at you, Guy Gavriel Kay!).
Oh, turns out we share some random trivia (except socks for Xmas - I lose them so quickly I despaired at socks as a class;D)
I love mint but hate licorice, own all Pratchett books available in Russia today (<3), and still haven't gotten around to taking away our Christmas tree. My favourite books are keen on tropes subversion, and my black cat has white paws:) Oh, and my favourite sports is trying to make snail mail work =P
You know, I missed you on that huge thread there, but, in the spirit of the meme, and since we've commented back and forth on pulped_fictions, would you mind if I friended you? :)
Hey there! Sure you can friend me - I'll friend you back, too. I'd like to get to know some of the people at pulped-fictions better and you seem very nice. :-) (Also, here is a link to my actual sign-up comment, just in case you want to know what you're getting into. Or maybe better not... ^^)
Yay! Hope you'll make many new friends on the meme. :-)
As for your question: Things are going pretty well. I'm rather busy at working on my thesis at the moment and in my spare time I try to motivate myself to write (because, you know, new years resolutions and all), so I don't have quite as much free time as I'd like. I'd love to have more time for reading or watching movies, but yeah. I guess trying to write more really requires a lot of time. Who knew! :-P
I hope so, too! I love these kinds of memes, I just don't come around so much on LJ.^^
That's good to hear. :) Busy isn't necessarily bad, but I know how that is: with my thesis now finally kind of starting (yay?^^) I can't really get around to watching movies or reading books (other than what I need for the thesis, which are at least interesting). But when that's over we'll both have more time again. :)
I like this random facts thing:) Let's see - I'm actually a bit afraid of cats, but love dogs. I'm much too fond of chocolate for my own good, and get really annoyed when people try to squeeze themselves into trains or buses before others are able to exit. And I find cooking programmes on TV really meditative.
Interesting random facts. :-) I totally agree with you that people squeezing themselves into trains while standing in the way of others are very annoying! Let's see if I can come up with some new random facts about me for you. Hm. I prefer having short hair because long hair annoys me as it gets in the way, but I'm too lazy to go to the hairdresser very often. I'm very fond of tea, especially all sorts of tea that happen to be vanilla flavoured. And I don't like washing dishes (but then, who does? ^^).

My husband is also a physics student. And he would sure like to be one from Germany, too, although I'm not so gung-ho about a move. ;)
And I just have to laugh at your comment below, about how all desires involve more time.

As for random asks, how is everything going? :)
