So, yesterday was the deadline for the PodCastle Flash Fiction Contest and I managed to submit my two stories in time! :-) (Everyone could enter two fantasy stories of 500 words.) Many, many thanks again to goldvermilion87 for beta reading ( Read more... )

Hey, that's cool. Good luck! :)

What is Escape Pod and Podcastle, by the way? I had a look around the forum to try to figure it out, but couldn't… :S

Thanks! :-)

And yes, that forum is a bit confusing... Basically, they are podcasts that run fantasy / science fiction / horror short stories on a weekly basis. PodCastle is the fantasy one, which I mostly listen to. (EscapePod and PseudoPod are for science fiction and horror, respectively.) They usually buy the audio rights to already published stories. The authors vary from well-known to relatively new. This contest I'm participating in is for new stories, though, and everyone can enter. The readers of the forums (which mostly are the podcast listeners) chose their favourite stories and these will be run on the Podcast then (PodCastle in case of this contest for fantasy stories). Hope that helps?

Yes, thank you! That makes a lot more sense now :)

I must check out the site, then. I like podcasts, but I didn't know that one.

Congrats and lots of luck!

I was planning on getting on board the podcast train about 3-5 years from now, right as everyone else was moving on to the next thing. PodCastle does look intriguing though.

Thank you! :-)

I do like PodCastle - they have a very diverse choice of stories. I don't manage to listen to every story regularly, but I always enjoy the ones I listen to now and then. :-)
