When calling someone regarding a job, have your own bloody telephone number written down. Hells, you should know your number by now.

Oh, and don't panic. If you actually have it written down, don't give them the number for the house. Dig out the card with the number and give them that one.

Hehehe, Stephen had been working at his company for a couple of weeks when he had to leave a message for a client. It ended with something like "... and you can call us back at.... the number... which I hope you know.... and... ask to speak to Stephen. Yeah. Bye!" Then he got a business card to keep by the phone.
