Heh, seems like I picked a really bad time to cheat on my taxes. At least I’ve got a good supply of rice, should last me the month if I ration properly. And we’ve still got water, and even if we didn’t the promise of it isn’t too far off. Survival, right ( Read more... )

You should try to get as many vitamins as possible into your diet - rice is filling but lacking in nutrients.

Working elevators probably aren't all that trivial to the people who need to use them. Of course this is coming from the woman who still hasn't fixed that damn filing system, so you're bound to look pretty productive in comparison, anyway.

Good think I've always been more partial to brown rice, I guess.

I suppose, I still suspect that they're a little more concerned with their next meal than weather it takes five minutes or fifteen seconds to get from the lobby to the appropriate floor.

If you like, I'm pretty adept at paperwork and could help you get organized. Must be frustrating to not be able to find the forms and records as you need them.

Well, not everyone can use the stairs. Bad knees, one too few legs, that kind of thing. Sometimes that distracts from other pressing matters. You have to find some meaning in what you do, or you don't stand a chance.

Really? I'd, ah, really appreciate that. I know where everything is within the individual stacks, I just...can't quite remember which stack is which. I'm afraid the pay would give new meaning to "paltry", though.
