I'm stoking up the wood-fire kiln again this weekend. I'll finish loading right after breakfast (essentially when I'm finished with this post and after I prepare my egg nog coffee). I'll light early afternoon and stoke until some time Sunday afternoon. Unloading will be on Tuesday. Let me know if you might be interested in coming out to watch.

Usually, I throw on the wheel. Today, the wheel threw on me! It's needed a new set of bearings for about a year now and I'm finally replacing them. The trouble is that everything is either rusted or really stiff. After a lot of banging and prying and grumbling, I finally went to the hardware store for a puller. Ahoy! Today I be harvestin' a squash, slicin' it, an' usin' it in me soup. I also be harvestin' some beans that I'll be eatin' in me dinner tomorrow. It looks like we'll be havin' at least one good ear of corn this year. Th' chard an' th' beets be doin' well, but th' broccoli be walkin' th' plank an' th' carrots be in Davy Jones' locker.

I'm planning to hike another part of the PCT from Elk Lake to Santiam Pass 3 weeks from now. I'm still trolling for people to join me. You'd like to join me...yeah, you know you would.....

We received word over the weekend that Dragon's Mist has been awarded Knowne Worlde Heraldic Symposium! This means I'll really have to iron out my heraldic botany class. We were at Sport of Kings over the weekend. I went down to the parking lot to get something out of Thor (our Ford Ranger--yes, we name our vehicles...). The parking volunteers at the lot entrance asked me if I intended to move my vehicle. I said I was just getting something from it. On our way south, we saw a couple of interesting signs.

A Subway advertised "shakes and loats." I've heard of interesting ways to set one's product apart from the competition, but using load meat is new!

Shortly after we saw that, we spotted a store called, "Bimore." Yes, the Buy More is real!
