I'm not really sure what this is all about, but if something happened at school in response to a post on LiveJournal, I'm pretty sure you should talk to someone about that. Even if these journals aren't necessarily closed to everyone, they ARE private, and about as far from being associated to a school publication as is possible. And I would think that a teacher should know when to respect a student's personal space and what constitutes crossing the line.
In short, a teacher should know that reading a (non-threatening, non-offensive) blog post and considering it ground for any sort of penal action is completely inappropriate.
