Oh, I don't know -- that first one isn't so bad. I think it probably gives you a very good idea of her little personality and, honestly, after paying money for some pictures where my kids look like the smile has been forced on them with strings pulling at their mouths, I'd probably be okay with some personality in the thing.

Cutest kid ever! Yes, I know, official portrait, blah, blah. Trust me, in years to come, these are the pictures you are going to love the most, not some stuffy, prettyfied approximation of the child you know. :)

I guess the question is -- if you are going to spend $56 regardless, is personality better than stilted fake smile that doesn't actually involve anything except the baring of teeth? If you are not going to spend the $56 unless the pics are good, well, then. That's different.
