Calling all web-savvy

I cannot figure out wtf is going on with the CSS here. Usually, if Dreamweaver supports something, Firefox has no problem with it. However, my borders have been showing up just swimmingly in Dreamweaver and not at all in browsers.

This page shows the gist of the problem, and you can view the CSS as well. What is the deal, yo? Anybody know ( Read more... )

Well, I know nothing about Dreamweaver, so I can't help you with that.

And I must say that I love that your "profile" photo was taken by yours truly! :-)

Ha, I'm really glad you took all those pictures now, by that pink tree and fountain tower thing. It's nice to have a photo with a genuine smile to use in profiles. Because you don't want the image by which most people know you to be strained or severe (or pompous, like some of Colin's ;-). At least, I don't.

Although, the chair circle would make a pretty sweet profile pic too, if egotistical :-p

One of these days, you are going to know Dreamweaver. One of these days...

I'm glad I could catch that genuine smile for you! It's actually hard to do sometimes. I may have to steal back all those photos next time you're in the states (if you bring them) since Sam couldn't save my hard drive. (See my latest COTT post for way too many details.)

I love those chair photos. I don't care if they look egotistical. I just I wish I'd done a better job in Photoshop before I lost 'em.

Oh, and speaking of Colin, he came up in conversation with the Schindlers. Abby was talking about wanting a job in Scotland, I think, and the topic of living in Europe came up. Jon said he'd definitely be fine with living in London because of all the British accents. I, of course, mentioned you and Colin.

We so need to be online at the same time someday soon. I feel like it's been ages since we've actually had more than an lj conversation!

Try this in your CSS:
.border1 {border: solid 2px #000000;}
.border2 {border: solid 1px #000000;}

At first, neither of your borders showed up for me in either Firefox or Explorer, but after I added the "solid" in there, they both worked fine. Not sure why the "thin" style didn't work... but I'm assuming you wouldn't want a border thinner than 1px, so yeah. Not sure if that was the exact look you were going for, but it might help! Just my two cents.

Buzzy, you are my hero! I never would have thought to put solid in there. This is what they get expecting a combination journalist/webdesigner ;-) In any case, thanks for taking the time to work that out. I really appreciate it.
