I love this

"The pundits like to slice-and-dice our country into Red States and Blue States; Red States for Republicans, Blue States for Democrats. But I've got news for them too. We worship an awesome God in the Blue States, and we don't like federal agents poking around in our libraries in the Red States. We coach Little League in the Blue States and yes, we ( Read more... )

Holy living mother of crap!... this guy's saying stuff kinda like all those national campaign speeches i always dream up in the shower.

If he weren't a leading major party candidate and therefore most likely spouting pre-fab rhetoric fed to him by a well-funded team of marketing surveys and spin doctors, i could actually see myself getting optimistic about the whole thing.

What's interesting is that, even if we were to assume the above were true, it means that the powers-that-be perceive that the route to victory is no longer based on appealing to the self-righteous exclusivity of screaming monkeys, and instead based on the desire to bring down some of the walls that separate us from our fellow human beings. I'm taking about an inability to recognize ourselves in one another; to understand that we are our brother's keeper; we are our sister's keeper; that, in the words of Dr. King, we are all tied together in a single garment of destiny. We have ( ... )

Speeches like this give me the "good shivers" and dare I say it, hope, like Al Gore's do. A good sign of someone that is a nominee frontrunner? I guess this helps me feel better that I voted "uncommitted" in our Democratic primary since I haven't been won over by Hillary yet (crying or otherwise).
