I've been thinking a bit about the quickly growing gap between the rich and the poor, and revisiting the idea of the 99%. I have never had much money, and for a while I've been hoping to change that soon. I'll likely never be part of the 1% that has more money than the other 99% (and it's not a goal of mine anyway, though I won't complain if it

There are two actors in the process of failure or success, the individual and the system the individual finds himself in. Personal responsibility can improve the lot of the individual in most systems, I agree. But it is also true that the system to a large extent determines the difficulty of achieving personal success, and limits of that personal success.

The current system in the US in rigged towards the rich and powerful, and has become more and more unfair over the past several decades. Serious changes must be made to the system to create a move level playing field for all individuals.
