New Binoculars

My 7 X 50 binoculars arrived in the mail yesterday, and I used them to look at the sky tonight. They are better, but the wiggle of my hands still causes the binoculars to have a small wiggle. To do it right I think a tripod is needed. I suspect my family is going to buy me a telescope for my birthday in a few weeks, so I'll wait to see what happens

Thanks. If they don't get it for me I'll get one for myself, since some telescopes are not expensive. But they'll probably get me a pretty good one. Just seeing the craters on the moon is a new thing for me, so just about any telescope (and tripod) will probably be great.
