Sue if you're Circumcised

I was wondering what the chances are of winning a lawsuit against a doctor or hospital for being circumcised. Turns out it's already been done.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8szj1jFCWMRead more... )

I've been clipped too!

How did these practices get started, circumcision and female genital mutilation, is what I want to know? I mean, who looks at a kid's genital and thinks, "I've got to re-work that."

No one else really knows why it's done either. During the Victorian era they started doing it as an attempt to stop boys from masturbating, and it became a tradition, practically all white men in America are circumcised. America is one of the few countries where it is done. You do something like that to a girl and you'll be spending time in prison, the law should be amended to include boys.

There's definitely no need to apologize for being anti-feminist to me.

Female and male circumcision is basically the same thing; cut off the outer skin, including some sensitive parts, to compromise sexuality. Hardly anyone realizes that was the reason male babies started getting circumcised in the Victorian era.

I saw somewhere that Australia also has a pretty high rate of circumcision. At least in America, people are just really clueless about it and just sort of assume it has something to do with hygiene or reducing disease, which is simply wrong and just stupid. In America a lot of people don't even know what an intact penis looks like. It's a tradition, it's automatically done, and these aren't always church going people doing it. The medical industry seems to be forgetting what is supposed to be a rule, essentially, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

When I've had feminist friends on livejournal it doesn't end well. Now I just stay as far away as possible.

The contradictions in what feminists believe and the ways they behave are amazing. It's a religion, and it's at least as hateful and judgmental as any other religion. Coercive group-think, beliefs that are not allowed to be challenged, a very controlling system that tries to cram everyone into the smallest boxes possible... for all practical purposes it's a religion.

What causes violence is sexual repression. How many people are likely to be violent shortly after having good sex? If feminists cared about violence they would stop bitching about porn and prostitutes and they'd fuck more. And it would do them a lot of good.

I remember the first time I had a conversation with someone about this issue. I was young, maybe 13 or 14, and I asked my health teacher why boys were clipped but girls weren't. He explained that female genital mutilation is illegal and I simply couldn't grasp why it's illegal to clip girls but not boys. Since then I've only mentioned my stance on the issue a handful of times, and most people were/are appalled by my "anti feminist attitude". Because, yanno, I'm a girl so I guess I'm automatically classified as a feminist in the eyes of society.
I think the lack of understanding about what circumcision does is saddening. One would think people would realize that chopping off healthy body parts is abnormal and cruel. But of course it's not a huge issue because, "Men oppressed women for thousands of years so who gives a flying fuck about their problems now?! MEN ARE PIGS!!!"
White male privilege my ass.

They're appalled at any anti-feminist attitude from a man or a woman, but it's expected from a man. When a woman has the balls to have a viewpoint that doesn't simply copy the feminist rhetoric du jour, when she doesn't go along with being entitled based solely on her gender, I imagine it makes them shit their pants. Of course, in theory simply pointing out the contradiction of banning female circumcision while allowing it to be routinely done to boys doesn't conflict with feminism. But when it comes to feminism theory and practice have little correlation, more often they're total opposites.

And also we men don't really have feelings or emotions, physical or otherwise. As everyone knows we're made almost entirely out of titanium and computer chips and have very few nerve endings. So it's sort of understandable that they'd be confused.
