Frankly I think so many people are too selfish and ignorant to even think green that learning about ANY act of green would be a surprise, but also would unfortunately just go in one ear and out the other. As someone who lives in a place where the closest recycling center is over 50 miles away... it's not that easy sometimes.

Just felt like saying. Also, those people with major health problems who live somewhere with 100F+ heat in the summer and having the air conditioner cranked all the time gets it to 90-95F... going without sometimes isn't a good idea when it could potentially kill you.

Those are the exceptions, though, and the large majority of people who don't do anything don't have convenient excuses. There is a vast difference between a lack of ability and a lack of interest.

You raise some valid points, and there are absolutely always exceptions and I didn't mean to offend anyone in those circumstances. Unfortunately the things I see every day are healthy, able-bodied people with extreme proximity (as in, literally, outside the office building) to recycling facilities, but due to their laziness/selfishness/(insert other excuse here) they just don't/won't. It's those people that get my dander up.
