You can hide his posts. Go to something he posted that is showing up on your News Feed. There should be a button to the right of the post, and there will be a drop down menu that allows you to hide or unsubscribe from his posts. I can completely understand why you want to do that.

Thanks Mel..in the old facebook I knew how to hide posts from people. They keep changing stuff and I never know how anything works any more.
