This is what I think: A sweet bubble nest. A lot of fish create those to place their eggs in while they hatch. See those three tiny fishes on the right?

I had an old book of kelpies,
as a kid I think I found it
in mom's stuff
it was an american version of kelpies.
so they are very benign.
sea people who take care of sealife.

the european version are treacherous
they are closer to the cold hearted merpeople
that prey on humans and can be in fresh water.
another version of a kelpie is a carnivorous seahorse
that can smell blood in the water from miles away.
they are incredibly fast. they are considered fae and
you have to be careful in negotiation.
