No pictures were taken during the pre-birthday party. This is fine, because the experience really would outshine any photographic evidence. However, when April 2nd dawned bright, warm, and lovely, how could I not take pictures to document this Best Ever of Birthdays?

( Photo/video essay, mostly for personal purposes of documentation. Couldn't hurt to do the web equivalent of jumping up and down at my friends, though, right? Please forgive this foray into blatant narcissism! )

Even though I missed the date, I have a whole year to wish you "Happy 23 years old!" I especially like Amelia, is she a gerbera daisy?

We're not sure what she is. That sounds like a good guess, though. I was worried about her after the super inexplicably turned on the radiator, but with some water and a location change she perked right up again. What a resilient little plant!

Actually, you're right! Now I remember that I was going to call her "Rachel" after someone I knew who had the last name "Gerber," but she just looked more like an Amelia.

Happy birthday, honey. It looks like you had a wonderful time, and you are so lucky that your birthday comes in with the spring! The city is all celebrating, moving outside, forks clinking in cafes and slutty girls hiking up their skirts. ;)
