The only thing that annoys me with Nintendo right now is the utter reliance on Mario for a lot of things. I appreciate them giving the spotlight to Luigi in 2013 but outside of Luigi's Mansion 2, we simply got a couple of re-skinned Mario games/sequels with New Super Luigi U and Dr. Luigi.
I really want to see Nintendo creating new IPs or giving more attention to the old ones we don't see very much of, since variety is the spice of life and when every other game is something featuring Mario, it gets old faster than annual EA games and shooters.
Kid Icarus, Star Fox, F-Zero, Pro Wrestling, Ice Hockey, Excite Bike/Truck, Earthbound could all use a return to the consoles.
Nintendo is just flogging the body of creations more talented people made, just like those other companies I listed. They seem to live and die by the newest Zelda, Pokemon, and Smash Bros. I hear Super Mario 3-D World wasn't a big seller, which is too bad.
Abstract sports games like Ice Hocky, Pro Wrestling, and Excitebike won't be accepted by modern audiences, who demand realism, unfortunately. Were those games any less fun for being 100% unrealistic? Naw! Realism isn't the only thing to strive for in a sports game, but the designers don't realize that.
There are still two officially unreleased-in-the-US Earthbound games, which unfortunately we'll probably never see.
