I'm going to friends lock my journal soon. Just giving a heads up to anyone who might be reading Blue ( Read more... )

*sighs in relief to know I'm flisted*

My "sekrit" fannish life is not so secret, but there are definitely peeps out there that would not understand, or appreciate this side of me. I doubt any of them will accidentally stumble, but there is always that chance.

The people in my daily life know, and just shake their heads at the fan-girl. And then tell me that they like my stories. I have nice people. :)

No one in my family knows I write. I am nothing like my brother or sister or mother. My mother has said that she got the wrong baby in the hospital. Considering some of my siblings' views on things, I consider that a supreme compliment. Somewhere out there, there is a hippie couple trying to figure out why they have a redneck child. :P

Yep. I could do filters, but my brain would likely explode if I had to keep up with one more thing.

Yeah. My roommate and several RL friends are on my flist, and they roll their eyes at my fannishness. (But then again, they used to read FictionLyn's *NSync fic, so I think I win with the fake people fiction.) I'm honestly more worried that someone's going to stumble on my musings about real people than those about fandom, which is why I'm going through all 735(omgwtfbbq?) entries and locking the real life stuff.

Though I will say that it's pretty hard to figure out who you are from your journal. You could always make a seperate RL journal and if anyone ever suspects you can point to it and say "Look! That's my journal! Nothing incriminating at all." ^_^

I mentioned to a friend once, in a very gushy voice, that she had to watch Firefly because it was the best thing on. She couldn't watch it because it came on Friday nights and that was club night and she couldn't figure out how to set the VCR.

It's me, stompysara. . . aestheticjunkie February 25 2006, 20:44:15 UTC
Hi, this is stompysara (who is part of your flist). I've created a new journal for the same reasons you stated above. While my boyfriend and some of my family know I write, they don't really know _what_ I write, and for now I'd like to keep it that way. I password-lock all my stories since I live w/my boyfriend, and I realized that too many ppl in RL know me as stompysara to keep using it on lj for fandom-stuff.

Can you friend me with this new username? Thanks!

I know, I know. I just can't help it. Work people or friends finding my writing would send me into therapy.
