[Music] Mindless Self Indulgence - Bullshit
[01: Comfort]
Kaoru isn’t the type to rely on simple physical needs such as food or pain for comfort; instead, he seeks the little things in Die, like his smile and the way his breath slightly rasps around his words after each kiss and an I love you.
[02: Kiss]
Die remembers their first kiss; both had parked at the far end of the parking lot and Kaoru, being the ever-sensible one, was the only one who had packed an umbrella and they ended up racing across the parking lot, laughing hysterically, and when it was all said and done, when they were flushed with laughter, Kaoru had looked at Die with such a fixed expression before he kissed the taller one so softly, chastely, and deeply that Die swore the Earth sunk a few inches.
[03: Soft]
The skin on Die’s back is softer than anything Kaoru has ever has the luxury to feel, and Die doesn’t mind that on nights he can’t sleep.
[04: Pain]
Kaoru looks up to see Die’s shocked face, and he starts crying, the pain in his heart far greater than the pain in his bleeding wrists.
[05: Potatoes]
Both had been standing side by side at the counter for a few hours, peeling potatoes carefully and skillfully so as not to harm their fingers as they needed them for playing, and Kaoru had suddenly stopped, looking up at Die and asking, “Why in the fuck are we making only potatoes for a smorgasbord?”
[06: Rain]
Kaoru had forgotten his umbrella again and just as he begins to give up hope that he’ll return home without the promise of a cold, a red umbrella hovers over him along with a smile, which turns into a kiss and a you’re so damn stubborn when it comes to leaving on time in the morning.
[07: Chocolate]
As Kaoru licks a drip of the melting chocolate off the edge of his thumb, Die thinks about what he would do in a heartbeat to trade places with that candy.
[08: Happiness]
Kaoru makes a list of things that make him happy: music, sleeping well, purple things, new pencils, toothy smiles, long fingers, tattoos, red hair, Die.
[09: Telephone]
Die lets the telephone ring, not wanting to talk to Kaoru after what he just witnessed between the older man and their bassist.
[10: Ears]
From the beginning, Kaoru had told Die that he would be all ears, no matter the situation, and Die is grateful for that when he breaks down crying, confessing to Kaoru about why he avoided anything having to do with food.
[11: Name]
Die traces his name over and over onto his sleeping lover’s chest, imprinting his name somehow into the other forever.
[12: Sensual]
When they make love, it’s nothing but sensual: half whispered words of affection, lips brushing one another, hands gently, deftly wandering, bodies moving in tandem.
[13: Death]
There’s always a sign on Kaoru and Die’s hotel door during tours: Death be unto ye who enter without knocking first.
[14: Sex]
When Kaoru’s the bitch during sex, he can’t help the string of, “Godfuckingdamnit, Die, do me harder!” and “God baby, yes, there, oh God,” spilling from his lips because, let’s face it, Die is both a sadist and a god in bed and can make the best noises that probably only he has heard from Kaoru.
[15: Touch]
Die feels Kaoru’s soft fingertips brushing against the tear tracks and that simple touch is enough for him to break down, knowing completely that Kaoru is always there to hold him close and reassure him of the good to come.
[16: Weakness]
Kaoru’s neck is his weakness, Die knows that, and all it takes is a simple kiss or flick of the tongue to it to make Kaoru unbelievably horny.
[17: Tears]
When life gets the best of them, they don’t ask what the tears are for, because both feel the pain mutually.
[18: Speed]
Die can’t take Kaoru’s speed, so close at this point and yet so far, so he tries everything to postpone the inevitable, grasping at thin air and trying to retain some modicum of control.
[19: Wind]
As the wind blows the soft strands of hair against the shorter one’s forehead and cheeks, slightly obscuring it to others, Die thinks about what a lucky man he is to have something so beautiful so close to him.
[20: Freedom]
Lying together, cramped on the tour bus bunk, Kaoru whispers, “It’s times like this when I appreciate the freedom on having our own bed in our own apartment,” in Die’s ear.
[21: Life]
It’s like some cliché makeover show with Kaoru as the star: before Die, life was dull and mundane; after Die, life was fulfilling, each day having its own meaning.
[22: Jealousy]
Of course there was jealousy, anyone who’s been in a relationship EVER will tell you that; it’s just that Die and Kaoru are so deep into each other, they never seem to notice anybody outside of the other.
[23: Hands]
Kaoru stares with distaste at his hands, wondering why the hell he had to be cursed with such ladylike hands until Die takes them into his own and kisses each knuckle, every fingertip, both palms, and Kaoru loves it when Die shows him that he thinks that the older one’s flaws are beautiful, making Kaoru feel on top of the world.
[24: Taste]
Tongues grappled for dominance against each other, so controlled and yet so incorrigible, teeth nipped at flush lips and other’s tongue, and Die pulls away, panting and grinning stupidly, running his fingers through Kaoru’s hair and murmuring as he presses his forehead against Kaoru’s, “Fuck, Kao, stop eating so much caramel, tastes damn good.”
[25: Devotion]
Others may call it obsession, but Die’s devotion to the older man, waiting on him hand and foot and always being there is just his way of showing how much he cares for Kaoru.
[26: Forever]
Kaoru cups Die’s face, tilting it upwards and kissing that perfect nose reassuringly, and speaks softly in that low baritone of a voice, “It doesn’t matter whether hell comes to Earth or the country sinks into the sea, because I’ll be with you forever.”
[27: Blood]
Die freaks out at the sight of blood running down Kaoru’s forehead after a speeding car had spewed gravel from underneath its tired, but Kaoru, ever the apathetic and collected one, simply mutters, “Well, shit,” as Die fusses over the small cut.
[28: Sickness]
The brunette hunched over the toilet, retching his lungs into the pot, and as Kaoru holds him closely afterwards on the tile of the bathroom, stroking the sweat-matted hair out of his face, he groans, “Never again are we eating ANYTHING that Kyo has cooked by himself.”
[29: Melody]
Watching Kaoru’s hands glide over the frets and strings of his new guitar, the new melody he creates invades Die’s being and seeps through every one of his pores, as it does every time Kaoru plays.
[30: Star]
As the first star twinkles brightly in the sky, Kaoru can’t help but think that maybe stars do have some power after all, and feeling Die sneak up behind him and wrapping his lanky arms around his waist only assures him of that thought even more.
[31: Home]
Toshiya is as perplexed as Kaoru looks when Die says, “Let’s go home,” and Kaoru replies, “Which one?”
[32: Confusion]
“Well, Die let’s see, to spare yourself some confusion, there’s a 90% rate of me taking it and 5% rate of you taking it, which leaves the other 5% to be filled by blowjobs, handjobs, and-“ “Godamnit, Kaoru, if you want to do it that bad, just fucking ask.”
[33: Fear]
Die doesn’t fear physical pain nearly as much as the possible emotional pain of Kaoru leaving him.
[34: Lightning/Thunder]
“Kaoru, you’re a pussy,” Die mumbles, getting rather hot underneath the down comforter, though he dares not remove it because he knows how afraid his shaking partner hates thunderstorms.
[35: Bonds]
Their bonds are like titanium: not even the greatest force can separate them.
[36: Market]
Kaoru gets lost looking for some underwear at the supermarket, and he nearly knocks over shelves of canned soup trying to reach for the coffee instead of letting his better half (not to mention taller) get it instead.
[37: Technology]
Kaoru tries to recalibrate Die’s mp3 player but, not being one to ask for help, is stumped with the piece of technology, and out the door goes Die’s poor music player along with the elder’s “Dadblast it!” and a few other choice words.
[38: Gift]
Die doesn’t need petty material gifts or expensive items; he’s perfectly content so long as he has Kaoru’s smile, his good morning and good nights, and all the kisses and touches in between.
[39: Smile]
The smile Die gives the older one as Kaoru drags his tired form to the dinner table warms his heart, no matter how much he craves sleep and not whatever concoction Die has attempted.
[40: Innocence]
Never was there such a feigned expression of innocence so beautiful and sexy as the one Kaoru gives Die as he looks up at him, half of Die’s length in his mouth, the younger’s long fingers tangled in the ebony locks.
[41: Completion]
Completion is bliss: Kaoru scrabbling for leverage (often finding it in Die’s hair or the pillow), muscles tightening deliciously around Die, the sweaty sound of skin-against-skin halting, Die’s long fingers stopping their motions whatever they might be, and soft whispered words falling against each other’s mouths.
[42: Clouds]
Sentimentality has nothing on Kaoru when he looks at Die and innocently goes, “Those clouds look like your eyes.”
[43: Sky]
Die can’t help but cry when he looks at the sky, and when Kaoru rushes over to comfort him, his soothing words and helpful hands are interrupted by the brunette shaking his head and sputtering, “N-no, it’s-it was…it was clear like this when we got together, a-and thinking about it makes me happy.”
[44: Heaven]
There is a no question: being with Die, holding his warm hands in his own cold ones, and feeling his hot breath against the other’s face near the end makes Kaoru believe that heaven is a physical manifestation, one in the shape of a lanky, smiling guitarist named Die.
[45: Hell]
Die sits up suddenly, sweat making his hair stick to his cheeks, and he does what he always does after these episodes of torment: he moves over, chest pressing to the expanse of the elder’s back, wrapping his arms tightly around the form as he feels Kaoru subconsciously snuggle closer, and that mere motion makes Die feel safe again and erases the hell in his mind.
[46: Sun]
The sun has competition when Die smiles as he receives Kaoru’s gift to him: a framed picture of the two smiling brightly, holding up their drinks in a toast while the others make goofy faces in the background.
[47: Moon]
The moon casts a soft glow on Die’s soft cheekbones, the light filtering in through the open window, and Kaoru reaches out, touching the soft skin, thinking that he finally captured moonlight.
[48: Waves]
Waves crash against Kaoru’s legs, very effective in making the dark-haired man yelp and fall back, catching onto Die’s sleeve at the last second and pulling him down with him, and Kaoru can’t help but think how metaphorical.
[49: Hair]
“Die, what the hell do you do to your hair to make it fall in that sexy way around your neck?” Kaoru pouts and Die responds, laughing and shaking his hips, “Maybe it’s just the way your horny old-man eyes are adjusted.”
[50: Supernova]
Each time Kaoru touches him, holds him, enters him, or whisper those words against his lips, Die feels like a supernova has occurred in his soul.
