[Suddenly, Lloyd face.]

-is it working? …

[There’s half a second more of a very perplexed looking young man before he’s apparently caught on that it is indeed working, and he’s grinning ear to ear, clearly giddy and impressed with the technology he’s received.]Oh, wow! This is so neat!! It’s really recording, just like that woman said, hahaha! ( Read more... )

You're not really fighting people, just their monsters.

[A Totodile... heh. Reminds him of Jaws.]

Basically, you go around training your Pokémon. Helps to catch more than one so you can build a team.

So you fight them to get stronger, but you can also choose to catch them. That's good: if I catch a few, that'll be less pressure on Totodile to do all the fighting.

Aaah, now this is getting exciting!! I can't wait to get a bunch of different ones!

Not only that, but if you train them up enough, they'll evolve into something even stronger.

[Maybe he should get his Feraligatr out of the PC... hm.]

Just don't go overboard. You can only carry six at a time-- the rest go into the PC.

I think I heard about that. I can't wait to see what they all change into!

Only six? That's too bad. What's a PC though? Is that like a wingpack or something? Not that I really understood how those worked.

You fought with swords? [That. Is pretty awesome.]

No one knows why we're brought here, but since you're a trainer, you're supposed to battle the gyms and other trainers. You've gotta get to Cherrygrove City first, though.

Yeah! Back home, I fought using two swords. It's double the power!!

[... or that's what he believes anyway.]

I still think it's a really weird reason to kidnap a bunch of people, but I'm not going to accomplish anything by being stubborn and staying here. Especially since that lady locked me out.

You don't seem like the type that would fight with swords. [Or fight at all, really.]

There's probably a bigger reason behind it, but like I said, no one's figured out what it is. Anyway, it'll take you three days to get there.

I don't? [He isn't sure if that's a compliment or not, as usual.] What type do I look like?

That's what I've heard... man, it's gonna take forever to get to each and every town. It's even tougher for the Pokémon, I bet, since they have to do the fighting.

[oh gosh a fellow person who used swords
even if scott didn't have any taken from him]
Yeah, that's in the spirit of the world. If you try and beat up people by yourself, I've heard you get arrested.

...But Totodile evolve pretty cool-ly.

[what why didn't he get his taken away >:[ jealous! b-but it's probably good anyway.]

Well it's not like I'd just go around beating people up for no reason... but I'll keep that in mind.

[Lloyd looks down at his Pokémon companion, a little confused. He'd read a little about the evolutions that Pokémon go through, but he wasn't sure he understood it one hundred percent.]

You mean he's going to change into something else?

[well scott didn't have one in the first place when he came here :p]
Unless, of course, you do it out of city and all hidden.

Yup! He changes into this eventually! [Say hello to Vector the Feraligatr, who Scott just let out.]

Hey there! Nice to meet ya, my name is Zack. I'm still kind of new here, but if you've got any questions I'd be happy to answer what I can.

Good to meet you, too, Zack! There's a ton of stuff I don't really understand yet, so I'll probably need the help. Thanks!

Anything I could help you with right now?

Oh and one thing... I don't know if you could back home or not, but you can't go up the cliffs in the roads here, you have to go around.

Cliffs? You mean those ledges...? They don't look that high up.

A Tododile is a water type. It should be efficient against fire and rock types, as well as ground. However, it is weak against grass and electric types.

There's a lot of rules with these guys, aren't there? I have a feeling I'm gonna get mixed up a lot. At least water versus fire is easy...

It's basic understanding of the elements. Water conducts electricity, it also helps plants to grow. However, it will put out a fire, and will soak the soil.

Huh, well, I guess that makes sense. I think it works a little differently back home, but all the Summon Spirits were so complicated I always ended up getting them all confused. So hopefully this'll be easier!
