Anthony Rossamando was then introduced onto the stage, and together they played ‘Bloodthirsty Bastards’ after which we well and truly said goodbye to the notion that solo involved only one or two people.
Hahahaha
This is an old song I wrote with an old friend of mine’, an emboldened Carl announced before the familiar strains of ‘Music When The Lights Go Out’ emerged from the cello.
Boo hoo
They opened with ‘Don’t Look Back Into The Sun’, another moment of sheer joy as that classic opening sequence emerged in all its perfection. There is something almost breathtaking about hearing those songs played just as they should be.
The rendition of the Libertines material was emotional. It’s been a rare experience over the past few years to hear those songs played as they were intended… with a full band, with immaculate arrangements, and with love.
It sounds perfect. Thanks for your wonderful impressions. XD
It was perfect in its own way. Wouldn't trade in the hot sweaty gigs full of madness and energy, but this was something else, a real tour-de-force in its own right.
I had the pleasure of reading this on the DPT community. Wow, it's seriously an excellent review. Thanks for taking the time to write it. Having said that, would you mind if I add you. I would love to read more of your poised reviews.
Glad you enjoyed it. Feel free to add me, although there's nothing that goes onto my journal that isn't public. However, do poke around in my journal, you'll find gig write ups going back a couple of years or so.
It's a way of capturing the memories, as much as anything else. I don't take pictures or vids, so this is my version of that. And of course, it's always good to share with you guys... xxx
I'm still smiling. What an absolutely wonderful night. Like you said, it all fell into place. And yes to all you said. He did so well *is chuffed* I'll be uploading videos today if the internet allows me!
Italy??? I'd heard of Glasgow (though apparently Carlos hasn't lol).
I'm smiling too, it was a remarkable experience. Italy... apparently there are three gigs in a couple of weeks, Rome and I don't know where else. Lovely to see you too, sorry about slightly hasty departure, but I'd been trying to encourage the troops to haul out for a while, and wanted to strike when the iron was hot, so to speak. Hope your journey back wasn't too gruelling. xxx
No worries, all through the night Mys thought I was leaving and I wasn't then it was the other way around, comedy :D. The lovely text was much appreciated, even though I only got halfway texting back before falling asleep lol.
Journey back was OK but I've ear troubles again which is somewhat worrying. xxx
LOL, not to worry about the text. Sleep is clearly a priority. BTW, you appear in a lot of the Getty images pics from Camden Rocks in case you hadn't spotted it.
Sorry about your ears. That'll teach you to listen to deafening rock music on repeat! xxx
I like your ramblings, especially when you review something I couldn't get to. Really pleased for you that you decided to go - it sounds as if it was worth the drive. x
Was indeed worth it, very last minute decision, I'd decided to be sensible this time and then at the tail end of last week had a moment of wavering, and that was that apparently. Pretty tiring, but no regrets. xxx
