How far did you travel with them? Mine were incredibly good when I brought them home for the first time - a two-hour journey, and they hardly cried. Now though ... it's a two-minute drive to the vet, and oh, do they ever HAZ A COMPLAINT about that. I just end up laughing at them though, because they're complain at each other from the back (Pickle) to the front (Sausage) of the car. It goes:

P: Mew.
S: MOW!
P: Mew.
S: MOW!
P: Mew.
S: MOW!!

And so on. Sausage has this big Siamese-type deep miaow who uses especially for car journeys.

About 30 minutes - it's only a 5 mile journey but obviously we were doing it in rush-hour traffic!

It probably didn't help that it was nearly dinner time and they may have been a little bit cold as obviously we'd taken them from a lovely warm house out into the car and it took a while to really get toasty.

We fed them as soon as we got them home and that seemed to help settle them, but I think it will be a week or two before they are really confident in their surroundings.

Aw - I can't wait to see photos!

Ours settled quicker than I'd expected. They were out of the carrier almost as soon as I opened the door, sniffing around - I have photos of when they came out and started playing with their scratching post, they were SO tiny! They spent a lot of the first couple of days hiding behind the filing cabinet - they were there when I came back from picking N up from playscheme (which freaked me out - where the fuck are the kittens?!) and were there the first two mornings.

Now, of course, they act like they own the place.
