A few weeks ago, I noticed that the "S" key on my keyboard was getting a little loose, and then one day it just fell off entirely. I was very worried about this because my computer is less than a year old so it's really nowhere near time for an upgrade, and if I took it in to the Apple store to get it fixed I might have to go without my computer ( Read more... )

I think letters popping off and being reattachable to keyboards is actually a pretty widespread phenomenon, rather than apple magic.

What surprised me is that I wasn't able to reattach it when I was trying to put it back on, but it somehow reattached itself when I just left it there and used it for a while.

I think you might have been afraid to push too hard to snap it back into place, but the using it slowly forced it into the snapping position. I agree with Ben that this doesn't sound like any particular wizardry on Apple's part.

That's probably right. It still seemed magical to me though. (You'll note the question mark on my compliment for Apple though.)
