Ethnicity can used to describe cultural and racial backgrounds and it's mostly a matter of self-identification. The definition for "ethnicity" is so broad and many definitions for ethnicity are conflicting. I consider my ethnic background to be black and korean. Am I then wrong in not saying that I am half black, because I'm not going into enough detail about it means when I choose to classify myself as being part black? I think not. Maybe the reason you've had to say this for the "umpteenth time" is because you are the one who doesn't know what you're talking about.
Ask anyone here. White is not an ethnicity. Your ethnic background consists of where you come from... not what color your skin is.
So perhaps I DO realize what I'm talking about. White's a color in a crayon box. Not where your roots are.
Being half panamanian and african american/chinese... my ETHNICITY is not indicated by a colorchart compliments of CRAYOLA it's located in my family tree.
I can point to my hondurain friend and call him "white" because he's the COMPLEXION of a caucasian person. But he is NOT caucasian. He's HONDURIAN.
Quick to jump down my throat for nothing. Everyone here has said it before. I wont hesitate to say it again.
If joliestar is gonna get all pissed when somebody tries to correct her or argue with her, then maybe she should take a step back to realize that that's exactly what she was doing to begin with. does it really matter if somebody puts 'white' as an ethnicity? whether they're wrong or whether they're right isn't up to you to decide. i won't get into who's wrong or who's right because you both make valid points and you're both articulate and you argue your side well... just remember this ISNT cnn crossfire, its a livejournal community.

this... ain't gonna cut it. So you might as well just get rid of it.
post CLEAR pictures of yourself, not these little 100X100 pictures where we have to squint to see you.
For the umpteenth time... WHITE is NOT an ethnicity.

You say "I get all pissed when someone corrects me"
but
then you say
you're not going to get into who's "wrong" or "right" because we both make valid points. Which one is it?
