Do you remember our first basic japanese sentence pattern:

Sensei
As you all know, sensei means teacher in japanese. So when addressing your teacher you would refer to them as xx~sensei ( Read more... ) -
Profession
So! Today we are going to learn how to ask and say what kind of job you do ( Read more... ) -
Where do you come from?
Today we will talk about nationality!
When you want to ask someone where they are from:
どこ から きました
Doko kara kimashita?
Where do you come from?
Doko = where
Kara = from
Kimashita = came
So you are literally saying where did you come from.
To answer simply replace where part (doko) with the name of your country:
country から きました。I come from ( Read more... ) -

Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu
You may have heard people say:
Yoroshiku onegaishimasu
よろしく おねがいします

Basic phrases
Hi there!
As with any lanugage, there is always a few basic words and phrases you will find yourself frequently hearing or needing to use:
ーおはよう（ございます)
ohayou (gozaimasu)
good morning, before 11am
ーこんにちは
konnichi wa
good afternoon, after 11am
ーこんばん
konban wa
good evening, after 6pm
ーありがとう（ございます）

Introducing yourself
When you meet somebody for the first time you say:
はじめまして、どうぞよろしく。
Hajimemashite, douzo yoroshiku
Pleased to meet you.
Then when you want to introduce yourself:
わたし は name です
watashi wa name desu
I am (your name).
